The JX|8 ShearTec II is designed with advanced features that cater to the needs of professional woodworkers. It offers Parallelogram Table Adjustments which ensure table depth adjustments travel along an arc, maintaining a consistent distance from the cutterhead throughout its travel. This design enhances the accuracy and consistency of cuts across various types of materials.
A standout safety feature is the Emergency “Knee-Stop.” This mechanism incorporates a body-length bar at knee height, allowing the machine operator to swiftly shut off the jointer at any position along the front while maintaining control over the workpiece, significantly enhancing operational safety.
The jointer’s body has been ergonomically redesigned with a “toe-kick” which allows users to stand closer to the machine tables. This design not only provides better control over the work but also enhances movement safety and comfort along the length of the machine. Additionally, the in-feed tables are equipped with pull-out support rollers that assist in managing longer materials, further simplifying the jointing process.

The deep grooves in the cutterhead not only make it very quiet but also enhance shaving ejection, and the 4-sided carbide insert knives can be rotated for a new cutting edge without the need for a knife setting jig.
